Thanks to all this healthy eating , i am thinking of changing my meal times so that i have lunch an dinner later in the day. Has anybody found this of any use or is it likely to be a waste of time ?

I've found that being more set for eating times makes it much easier to plan what your having. I've recently committed to a 16:8 fast, following favourable look test results to rule out any chances of being diabetic and other obesity related health related issues.

Having deemed myself healthy enough to abstain from eating for 16 hours and only healthily eating within an 8 hour window of 9.30am and 5.30pm I feel so much better and in control of my eating.

Hope this helps?

yes thank you that does help. I very much like the idea of a specific period for eating. From my old 'going to work" days,I used to have my breakfast at 8am, lunch 11:45 am and dinner 5 pm. But now being a home worker, I've already changed my breakfast to 9am, I'm thinking of pushing my lunch out to start between 12, 12:30 or 1. With Dinner at 6pm. or 6:30 pm because I retire for the day at 8:30 and go to sleep at 10:30 and I think I heard somewhere that the last meal of the day should be at least 2 hours before you go to bed.

Abstaining though is difficult. If I feel hungry in any way I don't sleep and so end up getting up. But I'm thinking of trying to relax before I go to bed and before each if my meals to see if that helps..

Thanks for replying

Thanks for replying to my reply. I've heard of many people doing a 12:12 eating plan, instead of a 16:8. The 16:8 suits my routine and work pattern, but a 12:12 may be a good compromise. So never eat your final meal of the day any later than 12 hours from when you had breakfast. I think our bodies do like a routine. I'd doubt that any disturbed sleep you had would be due to hunger then. Food for thought anyhow. :)

Mmm . I must admit that I was not aware of these q6/8 or 12:12 eating plans so i'll have to look them up. Thx once more.

The only thing I would say is not to make your final meal too late so that you are tired. We eat between 7.00 and 7.30 in the evening.

I was trying to remember the advice about not eating for at least 2 hours before going to bed and as I try for sleep at 10:30 I think I'll need to start my meal no later than 8 to finish it at 8:30. So thanks for your advice.
