Hi,
I find eating a clean diet has helped with my health. I tend to count nutrients rather than calories, & a high fat low starch diet suits me best.
I am vegetarian, & eat a lot of nuts and fresh fruit, with moderate amounts of organic dairy as kefir for nutrients & probiotics. I keep a jar of nuts, fruit, & dark chocolate in view, so my easiest snacks are healthy options.
If you're trying to loose weight as well as eat healthy, I've found restrictive eating easy to stick to, so rarely eat after 6pm, or before 11am. It didn't take long to get used to. Some people I know find eating only 500 calories on two days each week has worked.
Take a look at Chris Kresser's website for good advice.

Hi Skybluee, I am working on lowering cholestrol. Because I had a glut of tomatoes I had a little dish of the small ones on the windowsill. I found I was picking one up to eat on passing on and off, when there was a bit of an urge to eat so I guess scatter small bowls of good nibbles around and about. The other thing I do is not to buy the inappropriate food in the first place. It does send me searching the cupboards in the evening but to no avail!!! Good Luck.2well-ington
