Lazy lunch ideas?

Most days I make my lunch, but sometimes I don't have the time. I'd normally take a sachet of couscous (the flavoured stuff) to work with me if that happens, but today I noticed how much sugar is in it!

I wondered if anyone else can suggest something grab-and-go like this, but that's maybe a bit less sugarry?

Hummus and veg sticks, cold meat and salad, healthy sandwich with salad, if I'm really rushed I grab some cheesy oatcakes and laughing cow triangle, small tub of dried fruit and nuts. Also have low fat Philadelphia in with Apple and cherry tomatoes. Cuppa soups useful but generally prefer homemade. Hard boiled eggs good if you like them.

Most supermarkets sell calorie counted sandwiches if you don't have time to make one.

Good luck!

I normally prepare my lunch when I'm making dinner x I'm usually chopping stuff anyway x make up a salad or sometimes have leftovers, chilli soup pasta etc x put it in a tub in the fridge then easy to pick up on way out door x if I waited till morning probably wouldn't bother and pick up something maybe not so healthy x x good luck and good choices x

I usually cook up a big batch of something at the weekend and take to work every day - it's normally just a case of ladelling and going! I'm not always as prepared though...

Oh dear Cooper27. You do not sound as if you like in your words "the flavoured stuff" Find something you enjoy more. We are a bit stuck with the food industry. Low fat, high sugar. low sugar, high fat. If you have time make -up your own own thick soups and freeze and have that for lunch. No preservatives and added stuff. Good and healthy, tasty and filling. i know it is an effort sometimes to make our own meals . I am retired and have time but still have to make an effort. Lots of luck. Just focus on the end result, a glam you. 2well-ington

Well at least the couscous is better than crisps and chocolate! I'm with Anna on the hummus or oatcake options etc. Also homemade soup in portions in the freezer is great for winter and you get some of your 5 a day too.

Healthy cooking requires so much time - it's an axiom :)

And remember - the dinner you didn't eat in the evening has a chance to be your lunch next day ;)
