I tend to have a "treat" mid-afternoon with a cuppa - usually a 90 calorie muesli bar or a slice of fruit loaf. Also, last thing at night, I have a cup of hot chocolate, and sometimes a yogurt. These are the times when I am most likely to weaken, and find it is best to have something that I have counted and included in my day's calories than to try and not have anything....following which I sometimes "snap" and lose control and go and eat a couple of rounds of toast in the middle of the night!
I think fighting food cravings to being a piece of elastic - you can only stretch it so far before it pings back the other way. A few controlled treats is better than saying no, no again, and then oh stuff the diet!
