Hi, I'm new to this site. I am almost 53 years old. I am overweight (in the lower obese range). I have type 2 diabetes and have high cholesterol. I am on atorvastin for the cholesterol and glymeperide for the diabetes. I am trying to find the most natural ways to fight my health issues including exercise and diet.

Not able to give advice re: diet, but here in Bristol there is a GP referral for exercise scheme called Active Choices, which helps all sorts of health issues including Diabetes, may be worth looking to see if there's something similiar in your area, I wish you well x
Hi Betteg, it's great that you sound positive, and are taking the right approach there. Eating naturally is so much easier now we have the internet with a huge range of health conscious and low-sugar recipes to try. You can also sign up to an online calorie counter which logs everything you eat and drink, and in my case has helped me to lose over 2 stones this year. Much easier than writing it all down like I used to! The hardest thing is finding the motivation, and making the decision to get started. You have to tell yourself that you have only the one very precious body and we only get one life....so we must do what needs doing to make the most of it...
