Hello everyone. I'm new to this and bit confused - think I just replied to a post that then appeared to be 3 years old. I've done slimming world and weight watchers and many other "diets" but after too many years still trying to lose the weight. I hope the communities will help me as I feel a bit alone being the lonely "fatty" in my slim family. Looking forward to a new day tomorrow but calorie counting a strange new thing for me so fingers crossed. Hope everyone has a good week.

Hi Stephanie,

have you tried eating clean food. ie, nothing processed?

Mel - much as I advocate eating unprocessed food its not going to be the answer to weight loss. A combination of looking at ingredients and cooking from scratch and cutting back on the portion size is a good approach.

so

Stephanie I think you will get good advice here but if I were you avoid the ' diets ' that cut out major food groups or over emphasis others. Eat less and move more is what it comes down to in the end.

I hope you get on well.

How is the diet going?

Thank you all for your replies. I am going to go the route of trying to cut out ready meals and go for fresh fish, chicken and veg and fruit and try to stick to 1,400 cals a day, but may have to put in a small glass of wine here and there! I will keep you updated on my progress. Weighed myself this morning so today is the first day of this new healthy approach to eating and I am writing everything down and checking on-line for calories so hopefully this approach will suit me.

Hi, hope you have had a good week calorie counting? This is my first week today and feel really happy with it. I also have done various diets which are great for a while then my interest goes... I think calorie counting is a better idea at least you can have what you want and you are in control of portion size Good luck x
