Hi hrgs, I don't know much about efficacy etc, but on safety I am aware of many studies pointing to the risk of liver damage from their products... here a few:
1. Continuous reporting of new cases in Spain supports the relationship between Herbalife® products and liver injury: onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi...
2. Association between consumption of Herbalife® nutritional supplements and acute hepatotoxicity: journal-of-hepatology.eu/ar...
3. Herbal does not mean innocuous: Ten cases of severe hepatotoxicity associated with dietary supplements from Herbalife® products: journal-of-hepatology.eu/ar...
I had friends who tried Herbalife decades ago with no good result. Healthy, sustained weight loss occurs when you decrease your calories and increase your activity. Eating non processed foods, with an abundance of fresh fruits and vegetables, and avoiding added sugars is a sustainable way to change your lifestyle and watch the pounds disappear. Making sure that you are not drinking your calories is another way to kickstart weight loss. Good luck to you in getting to your ideal weight by making a safe and healthy change that you can continue long term!
Though I have personally not used herbalife products, my very close relatives are using it and they have found it very effective. there are many blogs about its adverse effects - I would suggest you try it for few months and get the desired results and then may be move to new life style with new eating habits which is suitable to your health. This time you can get away with herbalife products.
