EMDR has helped me a bit although still having blackouts

There is no wright or ring with emdr.

I'm glad it helped you but I am very sorry to hear you have blackouts.

You can try different modalities to see if they help with the blackouts, like maybe TRE, somatic experiencing or a specialized therapy for dissociation.

Nathalie has offered some good suggestions. I’ve found emdr very helpful but have had to couple it with using powerful grounding tools at the first sign of dissociation. I realised early on the emdr alone would not stop the dissociative amnesia (is this what you call blackouts?). I had to learn how to identify when I was beginning to slip into this. For me it always starts with my face going numb then progresses to feeling like things are far away then to looking through a veil. I wasn’t able to identify these things in the beginning but am able to now.
