Good morning to you all. Anybody aware of any good vids, clips etc to teach you relaxation and tips to calm yourself before a MRI scan. The anxiety is real. Thanks for reading and caring 😊 have a good day.

This is my goto relaxation clip. It's just 15 mins and it works well for me.

Best done laying flat with headphones.

ask them for a mirror which I have had once and I had no idea that this can be done and actually I’m not to bad with MRI scans … but the mirror was angled so I could be out of the tube and even the guy doing the scan as he was at the end of the scanner .. he was behind a window but it was nice and should always be used . This was done in a mobile unit ..and the guy said that this should be offered anywhere .. 🧐 sue

They were nice when I had my scan, there was a mirror so that I could see them, and they asked me what music I wanted. Can totally see that it could be anxiety making.but it was better than I thought. I did Headspace meditation through it which probably kept my mind off it.

What my Mom used to do was practise a breathing exercise , and while doing it put a facecloth over her eyes. Not a hard exercise - in for 4. Hold for 4 . Out for 4. Hold for 4.

She practiced doing that for 15 minutes because they told her the scan would take 10.

Since she could do it before she went it helped a lot. And she had her eyes closed and covered and couldn't tell where she was.

I wish you the best with it. I am not a fan of scans.
