Hi everyone..

My partner suffered a severe TBI November 21.

4 bleeds and 2 severe contusions, was discharged straight out of HDU, Lack of beds and Covid, hindsight is a wonderful thing, wish I would have refused to bring him home, but was just so relieved he was still with us!!!

12 days in deteriorated back to A&E, CT showed further swelling, choices Steroids or surgery took steroid option which with time helped. Was lost in system no rehab only seen a rehabilitation Doctor after weeks of chasing and to be honest as much use as a chocolate tea pot!!!

He suffered another blow to head 6 months in and for whatever reasons decided not to tell me, until I questioned him why he was so Poorly.. Never got back to where he was since.. Saturday he put the fear of god into me, holding his nose and blowing felt pressure in head, nauseated and pains in his head said he felt like he did when it first happened ☹️

I’ve tried to find help and nothing at my wits end.. Any suggestions what to do would be soooo appreciated…

Sorry for long blithering post SJ

Hi, welcome, and I didn't see any blithering. Just for piece of mind it is worth getting checked out if only by the GP. Also have a look at the Headway website, this has a lot of information, and there is a helpline during office hours. Details are pinned to this page. 🍀

I'm sorry to hear what has happened and what is happening now. It is really hard to get answers at the best of times. I have found out that brain injury support is not generally know by some GP surgeries. Headway would be great to talk this through this and hopefully the GP. Headway might know the system in your area for any services such as community neuro teams who can meet and make ongoing referrals... At least that happens here. Headway are great for talking issues through with - do call them. Not sure how he is living his life (is he burning out?) so therefore a change in pace is very much needed, sometimes doing very little helps (I know this is sometimes easier said than done...). If all else fails and he continues to feel very unwell then go back to A&E. You sound so worried. Look after yourself too x

Thank you so much 🙏 I am worried, things would be so much easier to deal with if I knew exactly what we are dealing with, the unknown is more scary than the reality!! I will give Headway a call.. I appreciate your kindness 😊
