I had my SAH in 2013. Being a type of stroke, I was informed that I am considered a group 6 by various parties. When the call for group 6 came out, I called the NHS number. I was informed that there was no record of me having ever had a stroke??
I contacted the GP and was informed by the (albeit lovely) receptionist that the GP had FORGOTTEN to transfer my details across!!! There was no system record, yet I was being prescribed tramadol and gabapentin... One wonders what they thought it was for?? I'm a standard group 9 apparently...

Hi. This is a dreadful thing to happen. I think you could get advice and support from your local PALS (Patient Advice and Liaison Service.) You will find their details by searching online for PALS in your area. They are specifically there to sort out things for patients. They will be able to contact the right people or organisations. I have had very effective help from my local PALS several times. All the best.
Hi Mrs H. As your primary healthcare provider your GP should have all the details of your SAH including severity & location of bleed, dates, procedures, observations, and any medication.
You should arrange a telephone appt with him/her and to ask for all your details to be added to your file ASAP. I find it astonishing that such crucial information has been missing from your notes for 7+ years. Good luck m'dear... Cat x
