UPDATE...

Hello all I posted on her a few months back about my loved one. He was assaulted at the beginning of january. Massive brain bleed, 2 blood clots, 2 strokes and a left side decompressive crainotomy . He was in a natural deep coma going between a 3 & 4 on the glasgow coma scale that was until today . He has opened his eye's for the first time in over 4 months ❤!! I know it will be a long road and we don't know yet how his brain injury will effect him but hes awake! I skyped him today and he wouldn't take his eyes off of me for the whole call..opening and closing his mouth and moving his tounge about like he was trying to talk!! The doctors said it would be very unlikely he would ever open his eyes . I'm hoping things can only get better from here onwards..

Brilliant news.

Fingers crossed for you. I too survived in an assault - as far as im going... 20 yrs ago.

The fact is your loved one is making slow progress is great. better slow recovery than a 'forced' one.

send all plus thinking's thoughts to you and your family as well for proper guidance and strength.

Keep us updated as / when your able

Kind regards

DA

Oh wow! That's awesome! I hope he starts to recover well. Be mindful it'll be long and slow. There will be setbacks at times, but you'll come through it. A good film to watch is recovery, starring david tenant.

My partner had a severe brain injury. It’s post 2 years now. He thinks communicates as he was before brain injury. Albeit s lost memory sometimes. Other than that he’s physically disabled but hoping physio will sort that out. Brain function is excellent considering he was given less than 10% chance . Drs said he’d be a vegetable rest of his life ! So just keep doing all the talking and interaction etc stimulations. It takes time but it helps .
