last week I was air lifted to hospital during a nasty fit and was put in a induced coma which has happened countless times fought for my life for a week but ok now my eldest son of 22 hasn't rung or even text me to see if i'm ok just seems it's no big deal to him is this normal

Oh dear! Try talking to him,maybe he just cannot turn and face whats happened/happening to you. Hope you are feeling better now

thank you for your reply his mother and I split afew years back my partner just wanted out but I did say we should sit down and discuss the situation with him which didn't happen so I think your probably right so the damage has already been done

thanks for your reply my tbi was in 2006 was in a coma for 6 months a few years later his mother and I split and thinking back nothing was discussed with him so your probably right

Seeing your replies to others, it looks like there might be more to it than first meets the eye. Hope you can get it sorted and make peace with your son.

You might need to make the first move ; unfair I know, but it could lead to a better understanding.

Life's too short, and you can't be sure what he's been told since your separation.

no but im sure there's more than just what you wrote involved in this,reading your replies maybe he doesn't know as if split from his mum so many reasons why he hasn't that I wouldn't worry you ring him?often our kids our scared of what they may think they see,as he if hears you then at least he knows your alive an can come in or ring knowing that he isn't walking into a nightmare,Just away my daughter referred when getting a call an scared as after all your the parent an they love you an some cannot handle hospitals an illness it freaks them out.
