Is it constant whole body pain that has been affecting you for sometime? Is it possible that you have developed another condition such as Fibromyalgia? This is quite a common condition that many people get. It is easy to think that everything is a symptom of brain injury but it might not be, especially as whole body pain and not just your head. Would suggest you get an appointment with your GP to see what they think.

yes its part of my other conditions,is possible you have fibromyalgia;as its the brain that causes it in alot of patients,as the nerve endings controlling pain may be severed,meaning it can be related to what ever brain injury you had,other types our in arthritic,conditions so I have both so cannot say which of my pains is caused by severed brain nerves or arthritic,hope that explains fibro;more

Thank goodness for this forum, haven't been on for a week or so, feelings of despair. I made my way to my Health Centre's open clinic this morning after a bad few days and nights. I went prepared for the usual - round and around and back round again type conversations that I have with the group of Doctors in situ. I came home emotionally wounded as usual, none the wiser and in the last couple of hours have come to a conclusion. See what you think and do any of you agree. I sat on my sofa, symptoms still with me, no relief in sight and realized the following;

There are two sentences that look the same, ie, ' It is all in your head.' and 'It is all in your head.' Now, at first glance, these two sentences are the same. They are not. The first sentence is saying that you are- a neurotic mess and a fantasist, you are the reason that the health service is in the state it is. Also, it is because of time-wasters like you with nothing better to do than clog the system with your various problems that really ill people have to wait to be seen.

The second sentence is saying that you have experienced a brain injury and as a result you are dealing with many life-changing issues. The problem is in your (physical) head, and although we do not have all of the answers, you are presenting with symptoms that are well documented and it is possible to support you and make any necessary referrals . It also acknowledges that there are also emotional consequences and once again this fact is well documented and we are here to do what we can.

What a conundrum! Oh dear. I experienced a dose of the first sentence this morning. so, I have decided on future visits that I will actually initiate the consultation with the following; ' Hello, I am here to speak with you about the problems I am having with my head...'
