No experience of this as have not gone abroad since BI. Have you given the Headway Helpline a call because they may have info of companies you could try.

Hi red_spinel,

Thank you for your question.

You can find details of insurers at headway.org.uk/Travel-insur...

In the related resources section at the bottom, there's a link to the Headway insurance policy, and you can also download our 'Holidays and travel' factsheet which includes a list of providers.

Unfortunately it's likely that you'll have to pay higher premiums, but hopefully some of these firms will be able to offer you the cover you need.

Best wishes,

Headway

We use Stay Sure, my daughter has no problems and she has a brain injury and physical disabilities. We tend to do no flying cruises though, but, I can't see why the insurance people wouldn't give you a quote. My daughter doesn't need a GP's letter to clarify she is ok to cruise - but would it help you if you ask your GP for one to submit to the Insurers.

Hi. We have just come back from a week in Turkey. I used the people recommended by headway (policy direct) for my partner. He had cardiac arrests and a resulting Bi 2.5 years ago. It was more expensive than a standard policy, but at least we felt comfortable that everything was covered. You pay a separate premium for screening for your specific problem, which sounds similar to my partner.
