I went to Mallorca in 2018 two years after SAH, grade unknown, but it was massive. My husband arranged insurance and had no real difficulty getting travel insurance through Tui the agent and was expensive.

She should just concentrate on feeling well enough to travel and to hopefully enjoy the whole experience. Fatigue levels come to mind.

All the best to you both.

Shouldn't be a problem - just possibly not available at the moment. Most travel insurance companies are not even quoting right now since we can't travel (sorry, but not even sure about March 21)

There are insurance companies for people with existing medical conditions but it not cheap. Apparently new insurance companies will be popping up once Brexit happens and the ehic will no longer cover UK residents so will have to get insurance. And proper insurance with repatriation and not necessarily some insurance for £7 like a friend found online for her holiday but when it comes to it what does it provide or actually cover you for.

I have an AVM and travel insurance companies never really understand what it is. I tend to use a specialist provider these days for higher risks. They are more expensive but its worth it for peace of mind. You should be able to find one on the internet.

I had my SAH. Went for my holidays 9 months after my surgery. With 2 aneurysm Still in my head.

I used allcleartravel.co.uk

They were very good and not very expensive to be honest. Only thing they cover only for 1,5 month.

Hope you can get insurance for your wife.

In Feb I just paid for annual worldwide insurance £95...covered for up to 45 days away and up to £5000. Just not for cancellation due to the pandemic... Grrr.

Previously paid around £50 for a single trip policy to include my travel on the trans Mongolian railway and 2 weeks in China.

Please be very careful when buying trip insurance. It is easy to think that your situation will be covered but I found that many policies exclude pre-existing medical conditions. Read all the fine print and make sure that you will be covered for the potential situations that you envision. Also, most of the policies exclude interruptions caused by pandemics.
