After moderate brain injury, and if I apply concentration to my task, I will drive again. (This from someone very determined.) Thoughts?

infact its a painless task if costly to regain your licence dvla suggests a local to you tuition in my case 6 lessons then an assessment not a test once you pass dvla will reinstate your licence in sabout weeks which gives you enough time to organise a motorbilitry car

Yes, Gisela, I was driving again three months after a SAH. I don't know what the rules are in South Africa, but all I had to do was get permission from my consultant to get back on the road. Best wishes. x

I had a brain injury due to a massive meningioma being removed and was unable to drive from September 2006 until June 2007. I had to make sure that my concentration was back and that I could turn my head from side to side without being in pain. It took quite a long time and if I am very tired I do still have concentration issues but I am quite happy to say that I am driving and I am truly happy to be alive. It may take time for you, time you wish would hurry up but I promise you it is well worth the wait. Don't have anybody in your car when you first go out as they will make you more nervous. Good Luck x

DRIVING: I agree that nobody other than a professional - usual - driving instructor should be present - with too much extraneous twitter of all sorts otherwise. Have always been a fine driver - international too. It is merely an idiotic loss of confidence. This, too, will come to pass. With many thanks for responses.
