Now that I FINALLY have my UK Driving Licence (a 14 month battle), I had a driving lesson yesterday, and was told I am quite capable and didn't need another lesson. Yay! I am currently borrowing my mums car, and have been driving every day!

Brill! I am sooooo jealous! Car sitting outside and me inside- really frustrating! Upside? Finally applied and got free bus pass....not the same but will open up another lifestyle...once I use it but having only been on a bus twice in over 25 years think it will be a while...but at least it's an option! So enjoy your freedom and keep on giving mum's car a daily workout! Really pleased for you!! X

Oh yeah - know it's frustrating not to be able to drive .... I gave my car away to my son for the 8 months I wasn't allowed to - it not being there to wink at me every morning was a little better . But I also now miss the bus pass for being able to get to the centre of Cambridge and no parking worries !! grass greener and all that saying :-) x

Before I came over to the UK, I never caught buses! They were too dangerous! :( :)

Sorry I meant no bus passes not that there is a us service to my village either. The county Town of Le Mans has train station trams and taxis, not to mention not much parking and too many cars! It's almost like the U.K. When I was a kid!

London of course has the DLR Paris has thenMetro and rural Britian suffers from not good public transport just like much of rural France!

Public money goes to the Touristy areas, building new Autoroutes to take the holiday makers there!

Well done you! I contacted DVLA in Nov 2014 and am still receiving letters saying 'sorry it is taking us so long to make a decision in your case'. Glad you are enjoying hitting thenroad!

It was November 2014 when I first submitted my application to change my SA and Zim Licence for my UK one.

Lots of letters back and forth, from specialists, surgeons, doctors and myself! Finally, a result!!

Congratulations on your driving, it took me about the same length of time but I had to have more than one lesson, not driving instructor choice, my families choice.
