I do wish you all the best. I had one of these assessments. The thing I didn't realise beforehand is that the assessors are very supportive and positive. It's not like a DWP type appointment. I was very nervous but the two people I had were very professional, very kind and they put me at ease. I didn't like the driving part of the assessment, but only because I had to use the assessor's car and it was a much larger car than I was used to. It all went well and I passed.

I really hope you pass too. Just remember to ask if you are unsure of anything during the assessment.

If you want to know anything else, just ask me. Best wishes. 🙂🌸

I wish you all the best of course but I'm curious. I've had a SAH and seizures and each time had to surrender my licence, On each occasion after the specified time, I reapplied and had my licence returned, At no state was I ever required to undergo a practical assessment, Under what circumstances is this required?

Hi

I think it depends on what your consultant and GP writes on the form when DVLA contact them about your application. Perhaps your GP and Consultant said you didn’t need a driving assessment? 😊

Yes that seems the most likely reason, Thanks and good luck.

Good luck, i'm sure it will be absolutely fine and I've heard only positive things about the assessors. How long have you not been able to drive for? I'm at about 20 months now, but unfortunately I still don't feel ready. The car makes me feel ill, too drianed and I can't judge things properly.

How do you book one of these?

You apply via the DVLA website - but it might be worth asking your GP and consultant if they’ll support your application before you st Start the application process ? 😊

Wishing you the very best. If you believe you can do this you will. I lost my licence for 6 months and it was a great relief to get behind the wheel once again when I got it back.

Sorry I didn’t explain it properly it’s just a doctors appointment where they test my reaction skills talk to me and assess me it’s not a practical one sorry i may have to have that if they think I need to
