Has anyone got any information about diet or supplements? There was a post about berberine and 5HTP along with other medicines. My sister who is 43 years old has GBM grade 4. It was diagnosed in April 2023. She also had her tumour removed and radiotherapy in May/ June. She has hardly no feeling on her left side and uses a crutch around the house, frequent seizures and twitches on most days. She couldn't have chemo because the doctors said she was unmethelated. She is on a keto diet and has cut out sugar completely. I was just wondering if there is anything she could do in terms of exercise and diet because when she goes out she goes in a wheelchair. The physio told her that her left hand was 'dead' but 2 weeks later she started being able to hold my hand. She gets stiffness and knots in her face, neck, shoulders. Any advice? Diet, exercise, medication?

Hi Speed of Light,
I have been using Higher Natures Immune Plus tablets since 2010, which are designed to boost the immune system; I also include blueberries, pecan nuts and turmeric spice too.
If you go to the Brain Tumour Charity's BRIAN APP discussion board you will find various posts I have placed regarding diet and my use of ozonated water and 3% Food Grade Hydrogen Peroxide, which I have been using on a daily basis.
She has done the right thing in cutting out sugar, which feeds brain tumours. Where was your sisters tumour located? Mine was in the right temporal lobe.
Regarding exercise, from my experience, I believe gentle exercises are best and this should be after treatment. Is there any support available regarding physiotherapy?
Is she doing anything to keep her brain working, I have always considered this important as an aid to recovery.
She should also rest when her body tells her to do so, both the brain and body do need time to recover both during and after treatment.
Are her seizes due to the possible development of epilepsy as a result of her tumour?
Most of all you must both stay positive and believe that you can get through this - see the BRIAN APP for my postings regarding my experiences.
Do not forget to take care of yourself whilst supporting your sister, your health and welfare as just as important too.
Wishing you both the very best for the future. 🙂
I Had a Glioblastoma G4 in 2011, aged 51 - treated with Surgery, Radiotherapy and Oral Chemotherapy, under the care of the Wonderful Dr Catherine McBain at the Christie, now Professor McBain. I didnt have any problems taking chemo tabs, and no side effects, I was fit & able to walk & cycle & was back to playing a gentle game of Tennis within 6 months of Diagnosis.
at No point did I ever feel I was FIGHTING cancer, I put my concentrated efforts & trust in following the Medical teams advice, and rested often. I was blessed in that I was able to sleep very well through the night, and often times a solid hour or 2 during the day.
My wife Sue, was my Primary carer, and she did a superb Job, in caring for me, and protecting me from interested well wishers, which I found tiring
So no experience of needing a change of diet nor meds from me during nor before/after treatment.
