Hi My dad was diagnosed in Aug with glioblastoma , it was removed upto 90 percent and he finished three weeks of chemo. He is not advised tmz due to fragility and being non methylated . Any one else in the same situation. He had the tumor removed from parietal lobe which has effected him motor functik s, spatial awareness and reading. What am I expecting going forward ? He is not stable.abd waljs with a Walker . He wants to walk and does genie exercise and is 79. I am scared what to expect and how to help him so that the stays happy?
My mum has alzeimers and I am really finding it overwhelming at times , they both think he will be better but I know glioblastoma returns and given his age there may just be palliative care nothing more. I am really scared .

Hi Archuuu3, I'm really sorry to hear of your situation. Really, really tough that both your parents have difficulties. I can relate to the difficulties you describe with your Dad. My Dad was diagnosed with a tumour in occipital/parietal lobes, towards temporal lobe. He received surgery, then radiotherapy. The radiotherapy was cut short and chemotherapy not started because he wasn't well enough. He was really frustrated about this as he was very focussed to 'treatment'. Conversely, when he was very first diagnosed he was very pragmatic and shared household / financial info with me which was a massive help for our family/my Mum. Sadly, he died 6 months after diagnosis
I'm really happy to share my experiences and practical things which helped. So much in my head - anything in particular you are thinking about / worried about?? May I ask - what kind of help do you have available? Have you support from a clinical nurse specialist / hospice care / charities? I did do lots of research and asked /read ....various things were useful and some with hindsight not so much. Also - accepting help from family and friends was invaluable and I feel very privileged that I was in a position to be able to be available and on-hand to help support my Dad, and Mum. Aware that this is fairly unusual and not necessarily the experience of others. Let me know your thoughts / experiences. I'll get back again with more info. Do look after yourself.
