Wondering about inhalers and asthma exacerbation.

Hello all,

Thankfully, have not had an asthma exacerbation whilst on the new inhalers -ciclesonide and seretide.  Had a sinus problem and used my ventolin then and all was well.  Was wondering if like with my old inhalers I could up the dose of these if I did have a bad asthma exacerbation.  Previously was told I could up dose of seretide to 3 times a day and the inhaler I was on before the ciclesonide to 4 times a day just wonder if this is still so when I am on the Itraconazole too?  Keep forgetting to ask the Doc as I have generally been so well since going on these medications.  However, it is too late to ask when I am poorly and wondered if anyone had been told they could do this for a short while before getting to see Doc - say for a weekend?  I was also told previously to do this whilst on antibiotics to help but not sure now?  Anyone got any idea?

Hi,

sorry.  I am a big fibber I am on Serevent.  Was on seretide years ago.  Was on Serevent and flixotide previously and now on Serevent and ciclesonide with salbutamol when necessary.  I didn't have any problems when I was on seretide it just didn't seem to work so well after a while.  Don't take an antihistamine at the moment.  I used to ad I had hay fever like symptoms in the summer but since using a nettipot to washout my nasal passages this doesn't happen so much.  Why do you take antihistamines, is it part of your aspergillosis treatment?
