Itraconazole

Due to this, my doctor prescribed Itraconazole 400 mg per day for 4 months to target the fungal infection. However, he also warned me about the risk of liver damage, which has left me feeling really anxious.

Additionally, I’ve been prescribed Itraconazole for the next four months. Previously, I was on azithromycin prophylaxis, but it hasn’t been effective for me. My doctor has now advised switching to doxycycline prophylaxis. Has anyone here taken doxycycline as a prophylactic treatment?

is anybody having problems with Itraconazole. I first found I had Aspergillosis after a bout of pneumonia. I went into hospital for a couple of days. I kept telling the Drs I couldn’t breathe first thing in the morning after I returned home.

For medication, I got Fluconazole, Canditral Itraconazole capsules and Candid-B cream to put on. But it has no improvement in treating for a whole year and same as before. I have got to do blood check up and also checked for the diabetes during these period and the result is none.

Just to say I went to the Dr yesterday and I asked him when I can stop taking the Itraconazole. He said not until I see the Consultant. I don’t see him until the 16th of May. I’ve already been on them it must be nearly a couple of months. It seems rather a long time.

I rang the chemist this morning about getting more Itraconazole. He said by the way the surgery has said that Luforbec is the same as Fostair. I said to him well I can’t understand why as soon as I went on it I had an attack of Aspergillosis. He said it may be because the components are different.

Should I take the evening dose or begin from tomorrow as levofloxacin and itraconazole together have side effects. Please waiting for your advise Thanks. I dont have access to a pharmacist right now

She had to change her inhalers when she went on to the itraconazole tablets and so far has been OK asthma wise though we do know that she may have an exacerbation of her asthma and have to change again.

Had my itraconazole dose upped to 200mgs daily. Have recently had a daily persistant headache ..possible link?

Has anyone been given Itraconazole, for fungus allergy. I have been given it,but seam to be getting alsorts of side effects. It has helped with my breathing, but feel very poorly taking it.

At the moment she carries a salbutamol inhaler for flare ups and uses serevent and ciclesonide (Alvesco) inhalers and is on itraconazole for an aspergillus growth in one of her lungs.

has anyone been given Itraconazole for this. I've got multiple allergies fungus being one of them. they said if this drug doesn't work I will be able to have Allergy shots. I'm constantly getting chest infections sometimes the Steroids and Antibiotics don't work.

I have been using Sporanox (branded itraconazole) but consultant wants me to change to posaconazole as he says it's more effective and has fewer side effects (I didn't have any side effects with Sporanox that I'm aware of). Any feedback would be welcome, thanks.

Has anyone been prescribed Itraconazole 100mg capsules 2 per day for asthma/ lung infection, if so, how long was the course for? and was there any improvement at the end of course? All answers greatly appreciated.. Thank you, Primrose123..x

He gave me itraconazole but after I month my weight dropped quickly due to stomach problems caused by it. I stopped it and now on my wits end.
