Looking for a Surgeon

Hi,

I have a fungal ball in my lung and have been told that a lobectomy is my only option after antifungal drugs have not worked. Can anyone recommend a pulmonary surgeon in the USA that has experience with aspergilloma / fungal ball in lung/ CPA?

Thank you

Surgeons who work with patients who have cystic fibrosis and organ transplant are likely to have more experience in this area than most. Perhaps that shoud be your first option?

Have you found a doctor? I had the same thing. Im in Louisiana. I had a lobectomy on my lower right lung lobe. The surgeon was a heart & lung surgeon. He is highly sought after from what i hear. You doctor should be able to refer you to a surgeon. It wouldnt necessarily be a pulmonologist. You would use a pulmonologist for follow up visits.
