I have had possible flare up. I have pain in both legs. My left foot feels like it is in cold water or wet and num, although it is dry. My right leg I have a strange feeling like I have cut half way up my shin also my knee feels like it is twisting but its not. I have constant pins and needles/buzzing feeling in both legs that gets wore the more I bend my knees. I have tried ignoring it but it is hard to walk, Iam slow. I have tried resting them and doing some walking, cycling on a stationary bike also stretching my legs. I tried a hot shower and an ice pack. I can't take pain killers or ibuprofen. The strange feeling is annoying and constantly there. Its been there for over a week. Any suggestions welcome.

So I just googled that and found a thread (be it old thread) and its sounds peripheral neuropathy and sensory changes could be the cause.
I am curious what would the sensation be in your left foot if you put your right foot in a bowl of cold water, would it still feel wet?
I also found this response agreed by two GP's to a similar question asked:
"Sensory changed feet: It sounds like you are experiencing changes in sensation in your feet, which can be related to low B-12 or folic acid levels, diabetes, high decreased blood flow to the feet, damage to the nerves enervating your feet, or even wearing boots or shoes that are tied too tightly."
Phantom wetness is a common symptom of a neurological disorder known as dysesthesia. This condition can cause individuals to experience abnormal sensations, including the feeling of being wet, even when there is no physical cause for it.
Some conservative treatment options include changes to your diet, reducing your alcohol intake, stop smoking, getting regular moderate intensity exercise, avoiding long periods of sitting or standing, doing some foot focused physical therapy and maintaining a healthy weight.
Maybe get bloods checked again too and if the symptoms become chronic arrange a GP appt or see a foot specialist.
With FND you can get a lot of different sensations I get a cold feeling, burning feeling, crawling feeling,at the moment my legs are hard and numb from the knees downwards i'm in a lot of pain and really struggling to walk.I've had FND for 9years and if I get a new symptom I get it checked out at the doc's though it always gets put down to FND but I stand my ground and tell them that I wants to see a specialist just to make sure.Maybe the exercise isn't helping I know they say try to keep moving or do gentle exercise but I've found in my case that it makes me feel weaker and get a lot more pain.FND as you know is a bloody hellish condition with so many symptoms my symptoms came at all different times over the years,I got some new symtoms and some symptoms have went away.People can give you some advice about what your experiencing but the best advice would be from your GP.I hope your symptoms go away as I know how frustrating and wound up they can make you feel.GOOD LUCK,TAKE CARE.
If these are new symptoms (or symptoms you've had before but that were not as severe as they are now) then please report them to your doctor and ask about the issues raised by Lady4 so that they know what tests to arrange for you. Good for you for trying the exercises etc and please also tell your doctor what you've tried so far.
Do you know what triggered the flare? I know I can get a migraine for numerous different reasons and that tracking triggers is almost impossible but if you have any indication of what changed that could also be helpful for your doctor.
A stab in dark ..why not try some myofascial release for your feet ..if it is not too painful. See link
hi Kerjones,
I got this last night after having not experienced it in a long time. I have to say the wet feeling is the strangest of the lot and I find it more than frustrating its a different type of pain, like an overload.
Heres what I have used to help:
Weighted blanket (maybe the sensory input disrupts the strange feelings and this felt really good. I slept under it but my physio doesn’t recommend this as it can be straining on joints)
TENS machine (my physio has set the machine to a low and light pulsing. I do 15mins max. Again I think this disruption or replacement of signals being sent helps)
Heat packs - i wish I had 20 to place all over my legs but i just have 2 and move them around where needed. Also the weight of the heatpack probably contributes to that nice feeling.
Sensory deprivation- dark room, earplugs kind of treating it like a migraine
What didn’t help me:
Legs up the wall
Muscle relaxer tablet
Paracetamol
I hope some pf these suggestions are helpful. I find if my brain is tired then any old symptom can pop up and rest is the real cure, everything else is helping me cope
