I am new to this group although I have participated in a Health Unlocked group for advanced prostate cancer for many years because of my nephew. The information we found there saved his life.

My 83 year old husband has recently been diagnosed with metastatic bladder cancer after months of misdiagnosis. Urologist suspected bladder issues over a year ago but missed it after scans and cysto. He has Mets throughout including behind his eyes, on bones, on neck under chin, in abdomen. He has just started chemo. First dose took white blood cells too low and had to pull back. Second try three weeks later. Really socking him but signs of tumor shrinkage.

Not eating much, no energy. Losing muscle everywhere. Four months ago he was playing hard tennis w times a week and swimming laps and/or working out the other 4 days.

We need all the help we can get.

My metastasis wasn't that extensive, but was in lungs, prostate, kidney and more. A nurse in the cancer center said that there were no formal studies, but it seemed like patients taking Claritin had fewer side effects. I took 2 a day (am & pm) and it seemed to help. Chemo did help but ultimately had to be stopped. They switched me to an immunotherapy and after about 9 months, I've been in remission for 4 years. Best wishes to you and your husband.
