Have received letter today from local council. I have been awarded discretionary top-up payment.

The very best of luck to everyone else affected by this.

That is good news ... Is it for a set period of time or indefinitely

I like to store nuggets of usefull information somewhere....

This award is from 1st April 2013-30 March 2014. Next year could be a different story, it depends on the funds available in 2014. I'll worry about that next year!

£50.00 a month is a lot of money for us, Good luck to one and all!

Or well done, I'm awaiting a reply from them. how long did it take for them to make their decision? XX

Had an interview in February which seemed to go well, then received a bill telling me I had to pay almost £50 per month from 1st April. I didn't know what to do and then couple of days before Easter received a letter saying I had been identified as a vulnerable adult possibly entitled to a discretionary top-up. Filled in and returned form same day - just before Easter!

Cant tell you what a relief it is. Fingers XX for you!!

Nothing to loose by asking. It depends on your local council. Wish you good luck!
