Hi Dave, yes I certainly have had the same thing and doesn't it drive you crazy ? I have varying pitches of the ringing, and also experienced a feeling like hearing your heart thumping in your head. Having spoken with my GP, I realise there is very little one can do to avoid it, white noise can be useful, but stress seems to be the most common cause, and/or possibly a side effect of some medications. If I wer you, I would make an appointment to see your GP and run it by him, he may do nothing's but if he thinks medications are involved, then perhaps some adjustments may help.

Wishing you all the best. Foggy x

Thanks Foggy, went to see my GP today he did a few tests but no result, going back next week for either a nasal spray or to see a specialist!

At the moment its driving me up the wall, tried to listen to music through headphones and when I turned the volume up the noise got louder..lol :)

Hi there,

I have been suffering with this constant ringing and whooshing in my left ear now for years. It only stops when I'm asleep, it's most annoying!

No one quite understands, but I've now just got used to it.

Fibro has a lot to answer too.

Yes, its common with fibromyalgia, and as many people with fibro also have myofascial pain syndrome,it is a classic and inevitable symptom of MPS. But you do need to get it checked, anyone with tinnitus should go to get it checked out in case its something that is curable.

ps you do get used to it in time - I hardly notice it now. But if I have a big stress it comes back really loud.

Hi Dave, I also suffer with this, my gp prescribed bethahistine 16mg, I take one three times a day, I also suffer with vertigo and this drug covers them all.

:)

Me too, had it for years. I have now got hearing loss and need a hearing aid. I was given Behistimes 16mg, but hospital say to stop them as they are no use for tinnitus. I was given a sheet of exercises to do, can't think what good they can do but will give them a try. I do have vertigo too.
