does anyone else feel getting a medical certificate from gp a waste of time

my gp has signed me unfit for work pending my appeal and i feel its a waste of time when the people at ATOS can deen u fit for work.

Do not give up ! was declared fit for work by atos,given 0 points. I just kept sending the sick notes in until my appeal,where i was awarded 18 points. It does get you down,but keep on. Chin Up

If you do not send in certs, they won't pay you. It is a RPITA that you have to keep sending certs until your appeal is heard, but that's the way the system works. And if ATOS declare you fit for work, you have to go through the same process again.

It's a terrible waste of GP's time, and another example of how unnecessary the whole evil ATOS system is!

my gp was mad when he heard the desision from ATOS and said that the NURSE that assessed me probably was not even one. I dont know how they are allowed to get away with it, the so called nurse told so many lies about my assessment as i was there on my own, my word against hers i cried for a week after reading what she said.

My recent ATOS assessment was done by a nurse from Nigeria, I sure hope she is qualified in something for my sake. Little joke there.

As your GP seems very understanding, he can give you a cert covering you for 6 or 9 months, as an appeal can take up to a year or more to get to tribunal.
