has anybody else with fibro got lupus as well ?

I was suspected of having lupus, but it's rheumatoid arthritis instead.

A lot of people with lupus have fibromyalgia as well, but lupus requires specific treatment, whereas with fibro, treatment is based on managing the pain and remaining as mobile as possible.

have you had a definite diagnosis yet, or are you still waiting?

yeah i nwas in hospital with a supicious rash last year and they said that was wat it was i got diagnosed with it years ago by my doctor at the time but never had any medication

no, but I have r.a. & another auto-immune disorder with some similarities to lupus.

I am currently in process of being referred to haematologist. I have been diagnosed with Hughes syndrome, which is an autoimmune disorder that means i have sticky blood. This can also be an indicator to lupus aswell but the bloods were inconclusive, hence referral. I am on a wait and see at the moment.

Yes I have both. Was on steroids for 8yrs and plaquenil but both now treated with Amitriptiline & painkillers. Was diagnosed with lupus in 95 and fibro last year. X

No, but I have Primary Sjogren's and Fibromyalgia. I take plaquenil and painkillers but have to be carefull due to stomach problems. In process of appeal and worried that they will turn round and tell me I should be on stronger pain meds. I'm starting to gather my evidence and will raise my concern with my consultant so that she can back up why she won't put me on stronger pain meds.

Ye I have both first diagnosed with fibro then lupus it's hard sometimes to know whats flairing.

i feel the same dont know which is flaring up and get worried if i get a cold or viral infection which is getting me down

Yes, I am the same. I have Lupus and Fibro. Was diagnosed with Lupus first and they have such similar symptoms. I have been on steroids (but now off them) plaquenil and methotrexate as well as amitryptaline.I am hoping to get to the point where I can just take painkillers when I need to. Fingers crossed
