Tramadol
I take tramadol when the pain is very bad and I can't cope with the pain any longer. I had a knee replacement 18 months ago and they where given to me then. Take care
Did. You get your knee replacement. Whilst. Suffering fibromyalgia? I ask this as I can hardly move new joint. But it looks fine on xray
I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia about 18 years ago as we'll as OA in my neck and spine the only good thing that has gone right is my new knee wish I could replace everything else. Do you suffer with IBS with your Fibro. Take care
I take tramadol together with paracetamol, and for me this 'cocktail' is pretty good.
Some people can't cope with tramadol, as it makes them queasy and dizzy, so I guess I'm one of the lucky ones.
You could try it, to see if it suits you, but maybe suggest to your GP that you mix it with a dose of paracetamol, as the drugs seem to enhance each other's action.
This has become standard treatment for fibro - provided you can tolerate it!

When I was given tramadol.
, I was also given a medication in case I felt sick, which
I did not need, it's not bad if taken with paracetamol like
Moffy said, but I don't think it's ant better than codine, it
Does help and does take most of the pain
I take Tramadol 2 capsules 4 times a day. If I don't take it then I am in agony. I also take Naproxen twice a day.
I couldn't cope with Tramadol, made me feel a bit weird so I now take Naproxen and Co-codamol together, does the trick for me.
I alternate every couple of months under GP guidance between co-codamol and tramadol. This way I have optimal pain relief as I don't get too used to either. I also take tramadol with paracetamol, as they work well together.
Unfortunately I am not able to take naproxen, etc due to a family history of stomach issues. If I do, again under GP guidance for a few days and have to have ompeprazole morning and night to protect my stomach.
I take 150mg tramadol aday, at first it made me sick but i got over that, I also take paracetamol about 6 aday when bad. And an amino acid called DLPA for long term chronic pain. This combo seems to keep me functioning ok. Good luck.xx
Thank you all for the info, one of my old GPs gave Naproxen(low dosage) to try, worked for a while then got used to it looks like a trip to the doctors again.
hi ive just been prescribed nefopam as couldnt tollerate tramadol, has anyone else tried this?
Hi sorry you are in so much pain apart from that the fact your inability to get around. In answer to your question I take both a 200mg in the morning with pregabalin and at night 2 dihydro with again pregabalin and ofcourse the usual cocktail of other things such as either paracetamol or ibuprofen. I dont over do the dihydro because I think it truly makes me feel better. I know its daft but I think if I take it too often it wont work. I know I am mad but the Consultant at the pain clinic told me to take my medicine to suit me as I know what my body needs. I know 200 is high and my 12 stone husband cannot tolerate it but I can. If my advice is any good I would try them to suit you. What harm can it do as long as you do not overdose yourself. If you can ease any part of your pain or any part of the lost feeling we have its got to be good.
I hope you are having a tolerable day and you have my best wishes.
Take care
Bye for now Love A xx
I used to take cocodamol, but now take tramadol and paracetamol. I find the tramadol far more effective. Hope it helps you too.
thanks am off to see my GP wednesday to try and get some.
I take 150mg of Tramadol in the morning and 100mg 12 hours later. I then take 20 mg of amitryptiline an hour before bed. Was finally diagnosed with Fibromyalgia in May. This dose just about keeps pain at bay unless I over do things in which case I top up with paracetamol.
Bye for now Norma.
