First it's fibro then lupus then fibro again!

I am getting to the end of my tether, after two positive lupus tests my consultant now thinks it is most likely fibro now, but has to run another loads of tests, x rays, ultrasound and bloods. I am getting so fed up with not knowing what it is, it worries me doctors just don't seem sure most of the time! I have terrible gut problems which I have been told can be part of fibro but not lupus! They both have fatigue and joint muscle pains though which are two of my main symptoms, it really is very wearing!

I can totally relate to how you feel , you think right now i know what i face and then it changes yet again,

I have an inflammatory arthritis but not RA ( well this week anyway )

i understand that their are over 200 different types of arthritis so it is understandable

I hate to say this but could you have both fibro and Lupus ?

I have fibro tagging onto my arthritis and can now tell the difference in types of pain

I hope the tests go ok and you get your correct diagnosis asap

take care , sending you hugs xx

Thanks so much irisjoy, it is so hard not knowing for sure, years ago I was told I had RA too! Possible it could be both, think consultant is doing these tests to see is she can confirm just that x

Hi LucyKris

Sorry to hear you are having such a hard time getting a diagnosis. I am not sure why after two positive tests your consultant would suddenly change their mind. Maybe it's time to think about a second opinion? I would go back to your doctor and ask for a referral to someone else if you are not happy.
