Since being diagnosed with Fibromyalgia in 2010, I am constantly researching symptoms and treatments for this illness.
One treatment I have increasingly been interested in is Hyperbaric Oxygenation Therapy (HBOT)., which from what I have read really gives effective results, especially with the pain.
The downfall I have found is all the treatments being offered appear to be private and very expensive, until today.
I came across a charity called CHARMS, which is the Charity Action for Relief of Multiple Sclerosis. They have a centre in Chelmsford Essex and they offer this treatment. In addition they accept referrals from your GP, so there is no cost to you, and all that is involved in referring is they send you a letter which you GP signs, confirming your condition and agreeing you can have the treatment.
In addition they have benefit advisor's who will review your ESA & DLA benefits and will help will claims, and appeals..
This is brilliant for me, as there is no Fibro support group in my area. I spoke to the Manager Judith, who is also an FM sufferer and she claims the treatment worked wonders for her.
I am willing to try anything, as the pains I experience on a daily basis, is sometimes so soul destroying, I do nothing but sit and cry. Which I hate myself for, as I have never been someone who gives in, and I feel that is what I am doing when I breakdown. My balance has got progressively worse, and I have now started using a stick sometimes when I go out, which is increasingly getting less and less.
