New year adverts

Does anyone else find the new year adverts appear to be a constant reminder of how life used to be? Http://SuzyB.net

I get fed up with all the adverts for holidays and all the latest must-haves! I tend to mute the adverts o,r if I have recorded something, then I fast forward. I also find all the build up to Christmas rather depressing, as the media seems to assume we are all wanting to buy clothes and food for sumptuous parties and that we are all rolling in money! Christmas and the New Year can be such a lonely time for many people and all the adverts seem to portray big happy families all sharing loads of gifts and this can only serve to heighten the loneliness of some people.
