pain been really bad for weeks now , doc come out to see me today but dont feel like they understand the severity of pain your in , i cant even put my feet on the groung today , and feel like im sitting on a bed of nails , looks like il have to just keep taking the pills ,

So sorry to hear you're in such pain today Anne and that it's lasting so long. It sounds like you're in the middle of a very bad Fibromyalgia flare-up. If it is this, it will pass. Keep taking your meds and then when it passes, when you feel up to it, I would recommend that you see your GP to discuss your current meds.

Sometimes it's advisable to have a review of our meds because our Fibro can change and evolve. Also we can become acclimatised to our meds and then they don't work as efficiently as they once did. Perhaps they need the doses altering or perhaps changing altogether. If you feel they aren't working for you mention this.

If you feel your GP doesn't understand, if possible see another GP at your practice or see about changing your GP. Obviously this will be when you feel well enough to deal with this.

I fully sympathise with you over having so much pain that you can't put your feet on the ground, I get this and it drives me nuts too. It hurts all over too doesn't it.

hi sorry only just getting back to you , things just settling down today , doctor has changed my meds , i take 2700 mg gababentin, 400mg paracetemol, 50g nortriptilyne, and also wear a morphine patch that is 20mg per hour , its just horrible isnt it when it really flares up , im sick of taking so many tablets , the tablets iv mentioned are only for my pain i take so many more to do with other health problems, thank you so much for your kind words and thoughts they mean so much , so glad i found this site as at least you know that people truly understand what your going through as they are the same ,, i try to be as normal as this horrible pain allows , cant quite remember what a normal day is , but with taking my meds you learn to cope and take each day as it comes , once again thankyou xx

So pleased things are settling down for you Anne, hopefully you will start to pick up now. Keep taking your meds, rest when you can and I think the worst is over now with this flare-up. Keep warm too!
