Does anyone suffer from severe pain even when breathing sometimes? It's really bad at the moment but varies from day to day??

If its all round your chest and it hurts to touch where your ribs meet your breastbone and you spine at the back then it could be chosochondritis a common symptom to make your fibro worse... It was the firs thing I developed with fibro... More you breathe more the rib cage moves more it hurts... I just collapse into comfy chair with painkillers and hot pack.. I used to be able to take pain killer and work through it when younger but not now.... Though I would still get it checked with your gp to make sure it is only that

Hiya

Yea I am the same within 6 months of being diagnosed with FMS they said about chosochondritis and it has affected me ever since. I do find some days it is worth than others but it does affect the way I breathe. I don't breathe very deep so it limits the movement on my ribcage. It is still painful but that makes it slightly less painful. It doesnt help I have got asthma too.

I would get it checkout by your gp.

Yes I do too. Mine didnt start until I started using my crutches, Doc said mine is chosochondritis and on meds for that too, somedays its worse than others, I do find when i first get up in the morn its very painful along with all the other flippin pains. But as Kt1986 and Verygrumpy have said just go and get it checked out.

I've had the same and a pain so sharp and specific that I've thought I was having a heart attack- once I called nhs direct to check - a few years ago - but now I'm 'used' to it and sometimes it goes off after a while

Watch out for the dreaded tight clothing - bras and those tops with the elastic under or over your bust it seems to trigger the pain for me - I've taken the scissors to many an item of clothing now just to feel like I'm not fighting it!

Please make sure you see your GP and mention this to them Raeben. It might just be a Fibro related pain, but it's always best to check especially when you have pain breathing. This would rule anything else out and reassure you too.

Please let us know how you get along. Take care. Here's a hug (((hug))).
