I was reading fibroangels blog about dla claim and how she's appealed several times and put another claim in and got it.

Can you only do this if you have an appeal going on ? .....

I have a review going on at the moment, but I was thinking of going to welfare rights and asking them to help me fill forms in and submitting a complete new claim to see what happens .....Does anyone know the best way and time to do a new claim, whilst you still have one running ?........

I re applied myself because I know I have for worse and was on lowest care dla... So I submitted new claim and got back still only allowed lowest rate but the period was extended slightly I have now to reclaim June 2013. When I next claim I will look up the guidance forms from here to see if I can word a better claim

Greetings Goldwing,

I had to attend a DLA tribunal yesterday after being turned down twice for DLA. I would advise you get all the professional help you can now and hopefully you won't need to go as far as I did. I'm still waiting for my decision letter and the posties been.

hi I had a lot of problems getting my DLA. Was refused again and again, but i didn't give up i contacted my local mp beleive it or not and dripped all over him as i think fibromyalgia is not looked upon by people as a disability and asked him if this was the way people with real disablilities were going to be treated and made to feel like liar's!! also adult social services who sent proffesionals round to do assesments I was then given lower rate DLA which i was not happy with as i am on morphine and get very sleepy and being in constant pain has left working out of the question, but they excpected me to go to work related groups through job centre to look for work !! so i just kept appealling and collecting as much information as i could from my specialist, G.P, physiotherapist, and occupational therapist. After nearly 12 months I have finally been awarded the higher rate DLA indefinately so keep going and see as many health professionals as you can and do not take no for an answer goo luck xx oh also there is organizations available who will come out to you to help fill in forms too just ask your local job centre and they should be able to put you in touch with somebody local to you.

Thank you for all your replies, but I have been listened to, I got a letter today awarding me High rate of both care and mobility only until 2014 but I'm happy with that I was ready for a long fight. I get free tax for my car too, can't get a car as it has to be for 3 yrs to get car but thats fine cos I already have one.

It proves that it can be done so anyone in same position don't give up.......xx
