I'm wondering if the amount your liver function tests are elevated is a sign of how far your pbc has progressed?

My phosphatase is 452 and my gamma gt is 209, my bilirubin is 24 and plasma alt is 49. I'm waiting for my biopsy in about 5 weeks now but I can't seem to focus on anything whilst I'm waiting. Thanks for any thoughts or info.

I would say yes as it is all connected BUT I am not a doctor and I think it is something you need to talk to with them or maybe the hospital to try and put your mind at rest. You will be a wreck if you continue to worry for the next 5 weeks.

Give them a ring today.

I have been waiting for the EXACT same test to come through from my hospital in Liverpool. They seem to be dragging there heels about it since also it was a scan with live video and a bloods at same time. I now just carry on, i like the american saying i keep hearing lately.

It is what it is. Nothings gnna change by worrying and making myslef more ill. I just get on with my life now.

Thanks pinkpig99 and Maddy. I tried the hospital today but got an answer machine and they rang back when I'd left for work so I'll try them again tomorrow. I just wish they were in a position to say, this is what it is we'll run the biopsy now if you want. At least you wouldn't be sat around for weeks worrying and waiting... :o(
