hi, yes my husband and i tried mortgage rescue scheme at our local council , found them very helpful and we succeeded in our application , the council lady and our CAB officer basically did everything for us after we answered all there questions, don't hide any information be completely honest however embarrassed you may be they there to help you and they will do there best, a bit of advice though we were turned down firstly by the housing association but we challenged them , we got our own valuations done on our property and showed them to them and told them to come a see the property not just go on a website to see how much properties were selling in our area.

the housing associations have a limit what they can pay for a property also so of the schemes are coming to a end . also i think it depends on the time year you apply they only have a certain amount of budget to spend each year, well that's my op-pion

Thanks for this - gets complex doesn't it. I'm glad you were successful with challenging them x

Can I ask whether the application was made as a priority as they are not acknowledging Fibromyalgia.

hi ,

i have other medical issues not just fibro, and financial probs, have you a OT she was the one to refer me . it can be a slow process, we let our lender know what we were doing and the housing options team also let them know , it helped and they laid off us for a time and put us on a interest only which did fall in what we could pay them. i will tell u know its not a fast process. have a talk to a citizen advice advisor they may be able to guide , get your GP involved ect, and don't take no for a answer the council wont want to see u homeless .

Sorry there not alot i can help u with my OT, Physio & GP was very helpful to me and my Husband was very supportive
