It's been three days now where my knee and leg are in such pain they were so swollen I went to a & e x rayed checked for clots and sent home I now can't walk on it and nothing helps got to wait till Tuesday to ring for an appointment , taken the last of my oramorph which doesn't help just stuck at home. Has anyone had this problem if so help please x

Hi Alison if its really bad call for out of hours doc to do home visit, and stress really stress you are unable to get out of the house as you can not stand at all, sorry know other suggestions big hug for you xx

hi there you aint alone on the knee thing mine have got so bad now i have to wear knee braces the pain just got worse daily i think for the last 2 years its hard but you will adjust keep the head and spirt up hope this is of some help to you ...mac

My knees are where it's most painful but they are not swollen. I agree with the above call out the duty Dr at the very least they may give you more meds til Tuesday huni, hope you get it sorted today much love x

My knees give me a great deal of pain. I find a cold pack (well a pack of peas I keep just for this) helps releive the pain a bit. Also ibruprophen in gel or tab form can help. Nurse told me if my legs were swollen to lay down and put pillows under my legs to raise them and that this should reduce the pain and swelling. Tens can also sometimes be useful. Hope you feel better soon

Hi Alison

Have you tried elevating your leg and putting a cold compress to help with the swelling?

If you are still in alot of pain, ring NHS direct for advise.

I hope the pain eases soon.

if your in that type of pain with swelling then you need to see a doctor! if the docs wont come out, get yourself to A & E somehow - please!
