:( I had my gall bladder removed a couple of months ago, im not sure if it was down to the fibro but after the operation i had a huge flare up and was physically in pain everywhere, even struggled to talk, but most people i no get up straight after and are fine. Hope when you have the op is goes ok x

I had my gall blader out 7 years ago not only did it cause a huge flare up immediately after op which meant I was in hospital a week they took a biopsy of my liver that wouldn't stop bleeding woke up with a 6 inch scar which 7 years on is still purple and raised ..... I don't heal quickly. Was horrible watching all the other women going home fine with tiny keyhole surgery.

Im so glad im not the only one, I ended up being rushed out of hospital the next day from lack of beds but also was told my blood count was low!!! I ended up at the doctors the day after with an infection in my wounds which took months to heal!! To make the experience worse, When i got admitted first time around with the stone pain, i was in bed a lot and going through a huge flare up. The consultant told me basically that i was lying and that i didn't need help getting undressed and washed ( which my mum was coming in to do) or the use of crutches or wheelchair... Fuming was not the word!

I had a similar experience many years ago when I was going in for a hysterectomy I got to the hospital and was on the ward in a bed luckily I had starved all night and all day only to find that they were running late and my op had to be cancelled...I was fuming and feeling very ill as I dehydrate very quickly..I was not happy that my daughter and her boyfriend had to take the day off work in order to get me to the hospital too!!! I therefore had to go back home and wait for another appointment! I made my anger and opinion known to my GP and I also rang my consultants secretary to say that when they send for me again...to make sure I was at the top of the list for my hysterectomy because I dont want the same scenario...I received a letter a few days later with a definite date for my hysterectomy...and guess what I was at the top of the list!!!! So I have to say why not give your consultants secretary a ring and try make sure that it does not happen to you again! Gentle hugs

Bev :)

I had my gall bladder out 35 years ago.Have a cracking scar from under my breasts down to public bone. Not like today with the keyhole surgery. This was the begining of all my problems and have not been well since. In fact even though you have it removed you still have to be very careful what you eat afterwards, always. My daughter brought me a cream cake yesterday and having eyes bigger than my belly could not resist it. Have been up doubled in pain with gall bladder symptoms all night. Acid reflux and the area where my gall bladder was is on fire. Pain up to my should as well. Must admit that during a scan about 3 years ago it was shown that I had a dilated bile duct. they did an endoscopy but thankfully there were no stones their but they told me that sometimes this becomes inflamed and causes pain. Also when they took my gall bladder out all those years ago there was only a bit of sand in it! I had had peptic ulcer all along for which I could have been treated with tablets. So am still suffering because of their cock up. Everything just went downhill from them. My daughter has been told that she had stones but she said as long as their not bothering me I'm not bothering them. By the way 12 months later had hysterectomy and then laperotomy to remove adhesions. Also worked after each of these procedures.

But just a word of warning dont think you can eat anything you like after having it out. This might me just my experience but be aware.

Good luck and hope all goes well.
