I wake up with dry eyes and they are difficult to open. Is this common?

Hi baldy34, I too can't open my eyes because they hurt so much - burning, sore, dry and swearworthy. I use a spray made by Boots, which helps a lot, so long as I can find it when I can't see it!

I had this too it got to the point that I used a 10ml bottle of drops in 2 weeks.

I went to the opticians and I had a problem with my eyes where the lubricating ducts(not tear ducts) were blocked. It might be an idea to get them checked.

I have recently had an eye test and retinal screening and the results were good so it might be something else. I am at the Dr tomorrow so I will tell him. Thank you for your replies..

I had trouble with dry eyes then discovered I was allergic to the preservative in the eye drops bottle! So now have individual ones now which are one use and much better!
