Why GP's are usless. Would it be better to have private treatment.

I had septecemia in Dec2010 which affected my lungs, kidneys, gall bladder, skin and blood. In June 2011, I was diagnosed with Fibro by Rhumo guy in Royal berks. Since then any problem with my body GP dont seems to be concerned about. I get UTI's and other infections every month. I normally spit out blood first thing in the morning but my GP not intrested . Is there any way to get rid of useless GP.The surgey is based in Circuit Lane Reading .

you really should request to change your doc at your surgery or even go to another surgery as your doc is clearly not informed enough on fibro you dont have to give a reason why you wish to change your doc but your surgery should allow you to

i had a problem like that with my surgery but i requested to change my doctor and now have a ggreat doc who i have a great rappor with he listens and that makes all the diff also he will always do what he can to help me so dont lose hope there are some very good docs out there i hope you get on ok

Hi reka,I so agree with harvey, with all you have been through, you can`t afford to have a doctor who will just chuck all ailments into the fibro bucket.

But what worries me is you spitting blood in the mornings.Is it your gums or something that just happens.If gums dentist is first port of call,but if not,thats not a fibro symptom and needs looking into.

You can always ask to speak to the practice manager if you have problems with finding a practice near to you.

Doctors are not Gods(they may think they are)but a slap on the wrist from the manager will make them sit up and take notice.

My Gp suspected the same few months ago about blood relating to dental problem. I checked with my Dentist and they suggested no problem with dental side. Last year I was admitted to hospital for Viral infection they thought it was something to do with chest but X- ray was clear. GP's normally think patients with Fibro are just time wasters.
