Hi again smily, fevers seem to be something we are all prone to,but I do wonder if I had a thermometer if it would truely be a fever, and not just that feeling you get with a rotten cold.
It is also something that goes hand in glove with Sjogrens.

As Butterfly said, I would wonder if you actually have a fever, or just feel feverish. Feeling feverish can be part of the temperature dysregulation that is a common symptom of Fibro. And being more sensitive to low grade fevers might be a part of the general over-sensitivity of Fibro.
I use a thermometer, and, yes, I almost always have at least 37.2 The lowest in ages has been 36.8 a couple of times. The usual 37.6.
Well, although you may feel feverish, 37.2C is within the normal range of body temperature when taken under the tongue.
The Wikipedia article goes into some detail on the different ranges for different ways of measuring body temperature:
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Norma...
If your temperature is typically higher within the bounds given (ie. in the morning, not straight after awakening, not after food or drink, etc), have you mentioned this to your doctor? Fever is often a sign of infection and can be a sign of something more serious.
Hi Smily,
It is reasonably common for some people to have a 'normal' temperature of between 37c & 37.6c, so this would not be regarded as pyrexia (a fever).
There is also a normal fluctuation of body temperature during the day, usually being higher in the evening.
In the nursing setting that I am from, you would not be regarded to have a fever unless you maintained a temp in excess of 38c for 24hrs and all the usual measures, such as plenty of fluids, removal of excess clothing, cool baths and 1g paracetamol 4hrly, had failed to make a difference.
At the other end of the scale and just as common, my 'normal' temp is around 36c. So I feel fine, when everyone else thinks it's freezing and I go into meltdown if the thermostat for the central heating is ever any higher than 20. My husband piles on more clothes and says I'm cheap to run.
So all in all, 36.8c is just the average 'normal' and I don't think you need to be overly worried about a temp between 37.2c & 37.6, if it's like that all the time.
If it hikes dramatically & consistently over 38c throughout the day, for 24hrs, then you should do all the things mentioned above, to try and bring it down and see your GP.
hope that helps, happy hugs, kate
