Hi im new to this and have a question
Hello angiebabe, gentle hugs and welcome to the group!
I have other things apart from Fibro - one being Arthritis in the neck. If I tip my head forward, I get an electric shock from my neck, through my chest and abdomen, through my legs to my toes. It started initially a few months ago having sneezed through a cold I had - it scared me witless but eased such, that it just happened on it's own and just from below my shins and out my feet. Now it's when I move my head in a downward tilt - It's quite shocking! I'm going to see my GP in 3 weeks and will query it then. It's not a pleasant thing to have happen is it?
Love,
Carol xx
yes i get it alot xxx
Hello Angiebabe, yes I get this all the time. Drives me nuts! Red hot shooting dart like pains through my feet, heels, ankles and legs! It feels like I've got little gremlins fighting an army in there too with red hot spears! I mentioned it to my Rheumatologist and was prescribed Methocarbamol tablets which worked a treat for me. I take two 750mg tablets when it gets to the point where I can't manage it any more, and within one hour it has eased and I can rest or sleep. When the pains start I don't mind too much now because I know I can stop them. I try to manage them as best I can without meds, but it's nice to know I have something to help me. Perhaps it might be worth a mention to your GP or Rheumatologist if you have one, they might be prepared to prescribe you these tablets. I hope it eases for you soon, take care.
Absolutely! X
I suffer with 'restless legs'. Have done for years. I hate it. When I get it I can't bare even the weight of the quilt on my legs and if my partner knocks against me it's hell.
I can only describe it as being like having my legs wrapped in cotton wool and when they are touched it's like that awful feeling when you chew cotton wool (not that I make a habit of doing that!!), that sort of grating feeling that sets your teeth on edge.
Add to that the slow bunching and rapid release of the muscles in my upper legs and lower back and your there!!
Thankfully, I've been much better since changing my sleeping pills and being more active. And now I've started physio too, I hope it will be the end of restless legs!
I hope you get some peace soon.
Take care of you xxxxxx
