May 12th is the International Fibromyalgia Awareness Day. Events tend to take place throughout May relating to this.

There is also a UK Fibromyalgia Awareness Week in September.

I have never heard of any of these things,what exactly happens on 12th may and are there any events planned for september and if so where. I could do with taking a few people to an awareness event.

Events tend to be organised by local groups, so it's worth asking the groups in your area if they have anything planned.

We can help publicise events held by local groups. I will also personally be speaking at a few events - both support group meetings and a conference for healthcare professionals - during May.

Hi Lindsey. I just looked up where your talks will be, I may be able to get to the Salisbury one, however would you consider it being filmed and placed on You Tube or a link on here or FibroAction webiste so those that are unable to attend can be up to date and listen to your knowledge?

It's a talk that we're working on to have available for support groups, so it will be filmed or put online with slides & audio at some point.
