Well I did pluck up courage as suggested and contact Alex Salmond and MP for Scotland in London. Got the response I expected - nothing to do with them. Told I needed to contact DWP !!!!!! No help whatsoever.

I'd write back to him again and tell him as your elected MP ( I'm assuming he is ) actually it is something to do with him as you pay his wages and he's supposed to represent your constituency in parliament !

hi i have had to ask my local mp to help with a dispute i have with wtctc and in fact still do been going on since 2008/9 he was fantastic and is really helping me ( well actually it got me so down i could not cope with it so my parents are fighting my xase for me ) but anyway he was absolutely fantastic still is i jus e mailed him what was going on he sent me a lovely letterbwith a formso he could act on my behalf anfd there you go !,
Also i had a dispute with my local council tax office few years ago and got him involved within 2 weeks they admitted it was ther mistake wrote off the £200 they said i owed and even sent me a letter of apology which i still have so i canyt praise my mp enough in fact i have had change of mp but the new one is jus as good so keep on at that them good luck love diddle x
