Thyroid problems run in my family, as do bowel/stomach problems. And certain cancers too.

Looking back now at how my mum was, it looks like she could have had fibro, though in the 80's it was pretty unheard of then, and my mums symptoms were similar to what I have now...

I have plenty of autoimmune disease in both sides of my family.

Nobody with fibro though, i had never heard of it until i had it.

My dads side has thyroid problems which i inherited, andmy mams side has mythsenia gravis and mental issues.

I am the only one with multiple things wrong though, lucky me lol.

I am just hoping my daughters take after their dads side and not mine.

I'm thinking of having a word with my doctor about getting checked out for some of the familial illnesses - especially breast cancer which both my grans passed from.. my brother passed from non hodgkins and my uncle of a brain tumour two years ago... I'm feeling pretty scared now....

hi i have not got anyone in my family either side with the symptons i have got but i suppose everything has to start somewhere ? love to you diddle x

the specialists have told me it isnt genetic, but my brother has it although he alsso has osteoarthritis, my younger sister has osteoarthritis, and the other girls all suffer from severe depression, asthma and heart conditions, We had a very bad, abusive childhood (in every way) so we always put it down to "no wonder none of us are very healthy" but my brother says my dad has the same symptons as us as well, so who knows?

My mum often has the same symptoms as me, not to the same degree but we have wondered.
