Does anyone else suffer from insomnia after taking Oramorph?
Thank you Jules58. Insomnia can be a side effect according to that website. Yesterday, because it was such a nice day, I went to the park and had a picnic and fed the ducks. A couple of hours after getting home I had a huge flare-up for which I took Oramorph. I have now been awake since 5am yesterday [31 hours]. My body is crying out for sleep but my brain just won't stop.Any suggestions to help me get to sleep? All suggestions are appreciated.
Hello Sandy I have oramorph as I have chronic spinal problems and have developed fibromyalgia on top of it although I was diagnosed with fibrositis (the old fashioned name for fibromyalgia) when I was 16 now 58. in that time I have had herniated discs all up my spine,And and op to remove L5.L4 has worn away of it`s own accord.
I never take oramorph after 6pm as if I do I wont sleep at all,and insomnia is a great friend of mine.but can sometimes get 2-3 hours decent sleep.the rest if I`m lucky is very fitful.
Hope that answers your question.

Hi, im new to this site, i have cfs aswell as fms and im on alot of medication. I take oramorph 4 times aday and morphine tablets twice aday aswell as all the others and i suffer from insomnia really badly, but if i didnt take them i would be in herendous pain! but what really gets to me sometimes is people who dont understand think its all in your head!
I know its hard but if you need the oramorph keep taking it or talk to your doctor about short term sleeping aid as thats what my doctor does for me.
