Hi Jinty,I`ve just started gabapentin so we can see how we both go.

I have felt absolutley exhausted on them, but I suppose they have to get into our systems.

I do have morphine because of chronic spinal problems, and found 2 days running didn`t need it.Only took some this afternoon as I know after all these years I can`t just stop. But I live in hope.

I`m on maximum dose now of 1200mg,Just need to get moving now,but that causes pain.Vicious circle isn`t it.

am on 900mg of Gaba per day. they used to come in capsules which were distinctively different from the Naproxen I also take. Now the Gaba comes in big white suppository sized white tablets which are more difficult to take. Funnily enough, they don't make me dozy, so I need Ami for that.

Good luck to you with the Gaba. Hope you settle into it well.

I hearso much about that tablet but have never had it myself or been offered it i may ask my GP about it and see if i can give it atry but i suppose we all on different meds and got different things wrong with us so dont really know , love to you diddle x

Im now on six a day, they dont work for me

I take 1 Gabapentin tablet and 2 Naproxen at night, the only relief I get is my leg is not so restless, but the pain is no different. I did try 2 Gabapentin but made me itch all the time so back to 1. enjoy the weather xx Hugs to all

Hi jinty,

It must be me but i dont get tired with them, they seem to give me a boost in the morning when i need to the kids ready for school (thats a task and a half lol), and also at teatime which is another stressful part of the day. By night time i am absolutly exahausted and still i cant sleep without amitriplyn. lol

my dad was on about them, he was given them for all his back/neck pain and said i should come off my tablets and try them, i dont know what to do, im on oxycontin, oxynorm and citalopram, but the oxycontin is for my back pain, i had 3 failed back operations, so really for my fibro im only on the citalopram (if i have spelt it right) has anyone else tried this and does anyone know if i could change to gabapentin would they stop my morphine x

Citalopram is an anti depressant hun so that won`t be doing anything for the fibro, just your state of mind.I have just startedGabapentin and although the side affects at the moment are that I want to sleep and have extra fibro fog lol.

I hope desperatly that they work for me as I have cut right back on morphine only taking one dose a day at the moment as I cant just stop after all these years.

So maybe think about giving them a go.They shouldn`t stop your morphine as I say you need to come off slowly.

I like you had ops on my spine that were not that succeful so have morphine for breakthrough pain,

Talk to you doctor hun and see what they say.But as I say citalopram is not a pain reliever.

Hi, im on oxycontin and naproxen as well as fluxetine. I had hoped i could get off morphine but have calcification in my shoulder joints which combined with fibro make it difficult to stop oxycontin. Had a good couple of days but didnt take 3 tablets today, jst 2 and cant sleep with pain.. it feels worse than ever tonight?? Hope something works for you, im still trying!

I LOVE GABAPENTIIN!

When I started to take them, it was great. Meeetings at work were fine - just cruised through them. I actually nearly dropped off in one. I haven't slept like I slept when I first started taking them and the pain is just about gone, although I've just had four shocking days, although I think I'm resurfacing.

I recommend Gabapentin!

I LOVE GABAPENTIN!

I took Gabapentin for around a year a few years ago for pain relief after a major back operation.

It was great - numbed everything, no pain and lots of sleep

Getting off it was a terrible experience for me, even gradually tapering it down made for life hell foe weeks and I still had some side effects months afterwards

Just beware that it can be a problem for some
